- Per American Physical Therapy Association – Direct access means the removal of the physical MD referral to have access for evaluation and treatment.
- Having direct access to a HOPS Therapist results in quicker and efficient care provided to you.
* Please Note: Medicare plans remain to require a physical referral.
Direct Access
Physical and Occupational therapists can treat your injury or condition without a referral from a physician. In the state of Ohio, you can simply schedule an appointment with the therapist of your choice, and in most instances your insurance benefits are the same with or without a referral. Our office staff will help you determine if a referral or prior authorization is needed for your particular insurance.
